The Washington Inn

About the Hotel

Welcome to The Historic Washington Inn, a cherished piece of Fries, Virginia's rich history.

Built in 1902, The Washington Inn stands as a living piece of Fries’ heritage. Originally constructed to house mill workers and their families, the building has witnessed the town’s evolution—from cotton mill hub to riverside haven. Following a 1940s flood that changed its form and purpose, the inn was reborn as a centerpiece of hospitality in the community. Today, its historic rooms overlook the New River and invite you to experience the charm of a bygone era—combined with modern comfort and personalized service.

As you step onto our front porch, you join a continuum of visitors who’ve enjoyed its warm hospitality for more than a century.
